Choosing the Finish and the Consumables

Grain direction is set by the belt, not the operator, and must run strictly parallel across every stage — crossing the grain destroys the pattern.

- Edge marking — panel seating or edge protection worn. Check location pins and pad condition.
- Uneven finish across the panel width — head coverage insufficient for the working width; add heads.
- Wavy stripes — belt oscillation out of adjustment: 15–20 mm sweep at 15–25 cycles per minute.
- Heat marks on thin panel — enable wet grinding and reduce pressure below 0.5 mm.

What grades of stainless steel can this polishing machine handle?
200 and 300 series including 201, 304 and 316, plus 430. We set belt grit and compound profile for your grade when building the machine.
Is the machine suitable for thin gauge stainless steel sheet?
Standard thickness starts at 0.3 mm. Below 0.5 mm, heat becomes the limiting factor — specify wet grinding and we will reduce pressure and speed accordingly.
Can one machine produce all three finishes?
Yes. No.4, hairline and SB differ by grit, compound and which stages are active — parameters change, the machine does not.
